Dr. Kristen Ann V. Mendoza is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and glaucoma surgery. She completed her undergraduate degree with honors at The Ohio State University (OSU), graduate studies at the University of Cincinnati and her Doctor of Medicine at OSU. She then completed her internship at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR before returning to OSU for ophthalmology residency at OSU Havener Eye Institute, where she was elected by faculty, residents and fellows to serve as chief resident in her final year. She then stayed on as an assistant professor where she was responsible for supervising first-year ophthalmology residents treat patients in the hospital and emergency department, and subsequently won a teaching award.

She then went on to complete a glaucoma fellowship at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai in Manhattan, NY. Having presented her research throughout the country and co-authored several peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Mendoza strives to be a leader in her field by continuing to dedicate herself to research concerning the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. She and her husband are thrilled to return home to Ohio, where she is currently affiliated with the St. Elizabeth and Mercy health systems in addition to practicing at MidWest Eye Center’s locations in the greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky areas.

She is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and has active licenses with the New York Medical Board, the State Medical Board of Ohio, and the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure. Outside of work, she served as a nationally accredited figure skating coach for several years, after competing internationally as a United States figure skater herself in her youth, having won Junior Nationals in ice dance.
