Here are some general guidelines that can help you determine if you are a candidate for laser vision correction:

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You must have stable vision for at least one year (it’s not uncommon for young adults to experience changes in their contact lens or eyeglass prescription; vision tends to stabilize in the 20’s).
  • You must have healthy eyes.  Any condition that affects how well your eyes would heal after LASIK must be resolved prior to surgery.
  • You must have no signs of keratoconus (which is an abnormal condition of the cornea) or glaucoma.

If you think you might be a candidate for LASIK, fill out the following form and our staff at MidWest Eye Center will contact you and let you know if your eye health is suitable for LASIK.
