It’s a long way from Helena, Montana to Cincinnati, but Katie Holnbeck says she feels like she’s at home in both the Queen City and Big Sky Country. Born in Helena, Dr. Holnbeck first became interested in medicine and eye care when she as 12 years old, when she had to have an operation on her eyes.
After that, her career path laid itself out.
In her spare time, Dr. Holnbeck enjoys reading, traveling, and the outdoors. She’s also a dog lover, with two canine pals of her own. She makes her home in Lebanon, OH, but remains in close contact with family in Montana. “I feel like I have two homes now. The people in the Cincinnati area are fantastic, and it’s a wonderful place to be.”
- Diagnosis and Management Of Ocular Disease
Dr. Holnbeck specializes in the diagnosis and medical management of ocular disease, including glaucoma, diabetes, age-related macular degeneration, and dry eyes. Quite often, serious medical conditions such as diabetes can be detected first through eye examinations, and this early detection can allow patients treatment early when it can be more effective.
Dr. Holnbeck is also responsible for refractive surgery pre-op and post-op care, along with cataract evaluation and post-op care. She works closely with the surgeons at Midwest Eye Center to make sure each patient gets the best possible care through all steps in the surgical process.
