Emilie K. Seitz, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Emilie Seitz is a residency-trained Doctor of Optometry at Midwest Eye Center, with expertise in management of complex ocular diseases, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye disease, and macular degeneration. Aside from clinical practice, she has also founded a dry eye clinic and served as an advisor and educator involved in clinical innovation and product development.
A proud Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), she serves on the Anterior Segment Section Committee. Dr. Seitz is a nationally recognized speaker with 20+ invited lectures and interviews, 25+ published articles, and multiple peer-reviewed poster presentations. She has contributed to leading industry publications, including the Review of Optometry and Eyes on Eyecare, and served as a host for Modern Optometry’s Medical Millennial Web Series.
Dr. Seitz earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) at Salus University, where her training included externships at sites such as the Cleveland Eye Clinic and The Eye Institute. She then completed a Primary Eye Care and Ocular Disease Residency at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center.
Dr. Seitz has earned numerous accolades, including the VSP and American Academy of Optometry Foundation (AAOF) Practice Excellence Scholarship and a feature as Allergan Eyecare’s “One to Watch” in Modern Optometry. She is a member of YoungOD Connect, Young Leaders in Optometry, the American Academy of Optometry, and the American Optometric Association.
