According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), approximately 12 million people 40 years and over in the United States have vision impairment, including 1 million blind and 8 million who have vision impairment due to uncorrected refractive error. Some leading causes of low vision and blindness are age-related, such as cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Favorably, there are a few healthy suggestions to minimize risks and keep our eyes healthy.

Adopt A Healthy Lifestyle

Acquiring healthy habits such as staying active and eating healthy is good for your overall body and keeping your eyes healthy! Physical exercise is good for your eyes. Over the past ten years, several studies have found a connection between regular exercise and reducing risks for a few common eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and wet age-related macular degeneration.
