Dr. Emilie Seitz Joins Midwest Eye Center

MidWest Eye Center (MWEC) is pleased to welcome optometrist Dr. Emilie Seitz to our team of dedicated specialists.
Dr. Seitz specializes in the management of complex ocular diseases, including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye disease and macular degeneration. She is a distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and serves on the Anterior Segment Section Committee. Aside from her practice, Dr. Seitz has also established a dry eye clinic and acts as an advisor and educator, contributing to clinical innovation and product development.
Dr. Seitz earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University, where her training included externships at sites such as the Cleveland Eye Clinic and The Eye Institute. She then completed a Primary Eye Care and Ocular Disease Residency at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center. Prior to medical school, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from The Ohio State University.
A nationally recognized speaker, Dr. Seitz has delivered over 20 invited lectures and interviews, authored more than 25 published articles and presented multiple peer-reviewed posters. She has earned numerous accolades throughout her medical career, including a feature as Allergan Eyecare’s “One to Watch” in Modern Optometry. Her work has appeared in leading publications such as Review of Optometry and Eyes on Eyecare, and she has hosted Modern Optometry’s Medical Millennial web series. She is also an active member of YoungOD Connect, Young Leaders in Optometry, the American Academy of Optometry and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Seitz’s approach to advanced vision care integrates compassion, precision, and extensive clinical expertise to deliver exceptional, patient-centered outcomes. She will see patients at our Hyde Park and WestSide locations.
