MidWest Eye Center Welcomes Dr. Patrick Burchell

MidWest Eye Center welcomes Dr. Patrick Burchell, a nationally recognized, fellowship-trained oculofacial plastic surgeon, to our growing Cincinnati team.
Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Burchell specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of conditions affecting the eyelids, orbit, tear ducts and face. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented nationwide on topics such as orbital trauma and enucleation.
His areas of expertise include:
- Functional and cosmetic eyelid surgery
- Mohs reconstruction
- Tear duct surgery
- Treatment of thyroid eye disease and orbital trauma
- Aesthetic enhancements including brow lifts, BOTOX® and dermal fillers
Dr. Burchell earned his medical degree and completed his ophthalmology residency as chief resident at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed a surgery internship at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle and an ASOPRS fellowship in oculoplastic surgery under the dual mentorship of Dr. Jeffrey Nerad and Dr. Jonathan Pargament.
Before joining MidWest Eye Center, Dr. Burchell served as Director of Oculoplastics at both the VA Hospital and the University of Cincinnati, where he was also an adjunct assistant professor. His dedication to education and leadership has earned him top honors including the University of Cincinnati Ophthalmology Resident Teaching Award and selection to the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Advocacy Ambassador Program.
Dr. Burchell holds memberships in the American Society of Oculoplastic Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Medical Association.
