MidWest Eye Center would like to assure our patients, providers, and staff that we are thoroughly monitoring the COVID-19 situation, and continue to implement CDC guidelines in order to provide the safest environment possible for you and your family. As we continue to monitor the CDC weekly briefings, we will update our procedures to ensure that all are protected.

MidWest Eye Center has expanded upon this response by utilizing its state-of-the-art intake management software. As patients register through the software, each will be presented with a CDC recommended questionnaire. Any patient who responds “yes” to any question will automatically be flagged by the system. Any patient flagged will immediately be quarantined in a patient exam room and the local health department notified. The questionnaire will automatically be updated as the CDC provides updates.

In addition to the intake software, MidWest has taken many measures to protect patients, providers, and staff. These include, but are not limited to, asking patients to wait in their cars until an exam room is available, maintaining proper social distancing in our waiting rooms, taking the temperature of all patients and staff daily, all staff wearing masks and other PPE, and cleaning all rooms between patients. Staff are also reaching out to all patients to remind them that if they have any symptoms associated with either influenza or COVID-19 to stay home, reschedule their appointment, and contact their health care provider.

We ask all patients and caregivers to wear their own masks when coming to our offices. This will help preserve PPE for our frontline responders.

Finally, MidWest Eye Center has established protocols in the event a MidWest provider or employee has been exposed to a patient with COVID-19.

For MidWest Eye Center there is nothing more important than the health and safety of our patients, staff, and providers. We will continue to monitor the outbreak and provide updates as needed.
